CRNA Completion Degree
Applicants meeting the following criteria will be considered for admission:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school or college
- Valid licensure as RN (registered nurse).
- Must be recognized by their state as an APN
- Currently re-certified by the Council on Re-Certification of Nurse Anesthetist.
- The CRNA must provide three strong professional references from anesthesiologists and/or CRNAs who can verify the quality of their anesthesia practice.
- Transcript from nurse anesthesia program. For those CRNAs who can verify by AANA/COA transcript from their nurse anesthesia program and/or by affidavit from their employers that they have met or exceeded the CCNA minimum case requirements, Residency I-IV be credited by verification.
- Submit 2 copies of transcripts from all academic institutions
- A short essay stating the applicant's rationale for seeking graduate education
- If English is not the first language, a score of at least 600 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language and a score of 6 on the institutional version of the Spoken English Test (SET)
International applicants should refer to that section in the TCU Graduate Bulletin.
Candidates who satisfactorily meet these criteria will be invited for an evaluated interview.
Clinical Sites
For CRNAs who are weak in specific areas of anesthesia or who lack specific skills, a clinical practicum of appropriate length will be arranged. For example, if a CRNA does not have epidural skills, a rotation will be provided at a clinical site currently approved by the COA for TCU SNA for the CRNA to gain proficiency in epidural placement and management For those CRNAs who can verify by AANA/COA transcript from their nurse anesthesia program and/or by affidavit from their employers that they have met or exceeded the CCNA minimum case requirements, Residency I-IV will receive credit by verification.

Human Patient Simulator
The CRNA completion degree student may utilize HPS Lab as needed. Currently some Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs requirements for clinical experiences may be satisfied by using simple models and simulation. The HPS Lab is equipped with a variety of models and mannequins.

Tuition
Tuition for CRNAs in the CRNA completion degree program will pay a per credit hour tuition based on the current packaged rate for RN students in the School of Nurse Anesthesia . (Current cost is $52,000.00). The total curriculum is 59 hours. The per credit hour cost is $882. CRNAs employed full-time at TCU SNA clinical sites with significant teaching responsibilities may qualify for tuition assistance.
